Very kind camping shops, school assemblies and much training!
Dave | September 22, 2008 | 1:40 pmHi all!
I thought it’d be a good idea to update the site as quite a few things have been happening recently. The other week i manged to get an amazing deal with Kathmandu, a camping shop in London just off of Oxford street. The manager, Grant, was a legend! He gave us quite a bit of money off of our tents, sleeping bags, sleeping mats, liners, pillows, towels and a few other bits & bobs. If you are in London and need any outdoor gear, i’d really recommend the place. It’s on Berners Street, near Tottenham Court Rd tube station, and everybody there is really helpful.
Check out their website to see more about what they offer: www.kathmandu.co.uk
We’ve also had two very generous donations recently. One from the local scouts (1st Braughing) and Wendy Smith. The money really is VERY much appreciated! With that money included, the total is now just over £700!!!! That means we’ve now raised some 24% of our target amount. Good going everybody!!!! KEEP THOSE DONATIONS COMING IN!!!!
Today i spoke at an assembly at my old school – Bishop’s Stortford College. That was pretty daunting, but it felt like it went pretty well. I’d like to thank Mr. Trotman for allowing me to present our little bike ride to the College, and also i’d like to thank everybody there for the interest they showed afterwards. I was pretty overwhelmed!! If you’re from the College, and are reading this then look out for the posters about the place and do please urge your mates to sign up to our mailing list and maybe even donate!!!
Right. I think that’s about it for me. I’m off out for an afternoon training ride now. Glad it’s sunny!!
Dave
